Surely the Lord GOD will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets. (Amos 3:7)

If you really want to hear from God more clearly and more often, something you must understand is that you need to be trustworthy. How much can God really trust you with? Many prophets fail to realize that not everything God will show you is meant to be disclosed to everyone, and this leads to hearing less from Gd because you just can’t keep a secret.

Another detail we ought to notice here is that He reveals His secret to his SERVANTS the prophets. How do YOU serve? How useful are you? A private doesn’t know as many secrets as a general does, because he doesn’t NEED to know. Many of us want to know the deep mysteries of the kingdom, but do little or nothing of use for the kingdom.

This doesn’t mean you have to do great things, but it does mean that God doesn’t share a whole lot of his secrets with idle, lazy, or irresponsible people. Don’t expect to prophesy to the nations if you can’t even be bothered to pray for an hour a day, and don’t expect for the hearts of men to be revealed to you if in your own heart you don’t really care about others.

I challenge you today to become more trustworthy, and to find ways to serve the kingdom.
