God

You never have to TRY to prophesy

Beware any ‘prophetic’ movement which encourages you to ‘try’ to prophesy, or to ‘exercise the prophetic muscle.’ There was NEVER any prophet in scripture who was in right standing with God who ever needed to TRY or exercise in prophecy. Either the Word of the Lord came to them, or it did not.The basis for all REAL prophecy is not only that GOD has revealed something to someone, but that he has directed them to disclose what he revealed. (Deut 18:20). Nowhere in Scripture does any holy prophet of God draw on any source other than God for inspiration. Some will say God told Jeremiah ‘What do you see?’ God said that because he was showing Jeremiah something. When Daniel interpreted dreams or the writing on the wall, he interpreted messages which came from God, and relied ONLY on God for inspiration. When a priest would inquire of the Lord and the Urim and Thummim were used, they were never a source of inspiration, but merely a means by which God answered ‘yes’ or ‘no.’ They inquired of the LORD. The only incidents in scripture in which people used objects or images to inspire them with regard to their spiritual life are ALWAYS incidents involving idolatry, witchcraft, and false prophetic utterance.Call this ‘book smarts’ if you want, there are no idle details in the word of God, and the Holy Spirit inspired its authorship. Therefore, any patterns and paradigms therein are present with a purpose, and not to be disregarded. If it was the Holy Spirit who inspired these very specific things to be written, the Holy Spirit would not be ‘leading’ people into ‘prophetic’ practices which are contrary to the proclamations, prohibitions, prescriptions, patterns, and paradigms of HIS book. Many are being drawn into this deception, and are inevitably snared by the new age witchcraft which has become so common in charismatic circles today. Brethren, please pray for eyes to be opened… this deception runs far deeper in the church world than you may suspect.

The Stage is Being Set

After working in the garden this morning, I heard ‘The stage is being set.’

And much like a Broadway play, we have for years looked on what was going on around us in the world with indifference, amusement, or a degree of outrage that wasn’t quite enough to move us to meaningful action. Many flocked to whatever ministry most closely fit our preferences, biases, or opinions, and entertained ourselves with light shows, smoke machines, and a great deal of acivity that kept us busy, but not productive as a Body.

During these last few decades, the human agents of the Enemy took over the institutions of education, government, entertainment, and commerce. They used Hollywood as a prophetic voice to mold public opinion and normalize what just half a lifetime ago was distasteful, repulsive, or even unthinkable.

At the end of last year, I’d delivered a prophetic word that God had fired much of the church leadership. Shortly after, churches were closed down by government officials, and in some states they are trying to keep them closed for another year. Others, like DeBlasio in New York City, are threatening permanent closures. Most of the pieces are in place to force the institutional church to either comply with the ways of the world, or go underground.

What I’m saying now might have been thought of as crazy even a few months ago. Yet in recent weeks, during all of the lawless violence, we have seen a progression of ideas going from unthinkable to popularly endorsed. One city is officially going to abolish its police department. Chaos is already becoming the norm there. Now the same people behind this violent Marxist insurgency are calling for churches to be destroyed. History shows us that we’re following the same pattern as in every Marxist revolution: vandalism targeting specific groups, then destruction of monuments. After this comes the destruction of churches, and eventually the persecution of and mass murder of those who are ‘in the way’ of the ‘revolution.’

It’s time to put aside the gimmicks, and take on the sackcloth and ashes.

Replace it with prayer

The disciples spent 3 years with the greatest preacher to ever walk the earth, and yet they never said ‘Teach us to preach.’ They said, ‘Lord, teach us to pray.’
As Leonard Ravenhill often said, no man is greater than his prayer life. So often we have replaced prayer with branding, clever marketing, programs, 6 point sermons, well-meant witnessing methods, with worry, fear, gossip, complaining, and all the silent agonies of a guilty conscience.

The gospels have no stories of Jesus praying for the sick. He simply healed them. Why? Because He had already been praying. He had a life of prayer so intimate that the life of God could flow through Him ata moment’s notice whenever it was needed.

My challenge to you today is a simple one:

  • Replace worry with prayer.
    Replace fear with prayer.
  • Replace guilt with prayer.
  • Replace gossip with prayer.
  • Replace your ideas with prayer.

The very will of God is present with you by way of the indwelling Holy Spirit, so never mind whether He’s willing to answer.

His WILL is with you.

It lives INSIDE you.

Pray.

Everything was already answered at Calvary.Pray.

The Drama in Seattle

When you are are strong, appear weak.

The Art of War

With the sheer number of posts and videos online about the contuing occupation of Capitol Hill in Seattle, I began to wonder why there has been very little real prophetic insight as to what is really going on, and why it”s being permitted. There are many true statements with regard to the Mayor and Governor’s complicity being tied to the Leftist agenda and the upcoming election, but there is something much more sinister lurking beneath the surface.

When the godly are in authority, the people rejoice. But when the wicked are in power, they groan.

Proverbs 29:2

It is clear that there is a lot of groaning going on in the CHAZ, now being called CHOP (Capitol Hill Organized Protest) to avoid sedition and treason charges. Many of us have been laughing at these Antifa and BLM people and their ineptitude at everything from self-care to gardening, but when I looked at this in this spirit I heard The Art of War quote above.

While we laugh at CHAZ, CHOP, or whatever they may be calling themselves today, the movement that spawned that situation has been planning better organized, better funded, and better armed occupations of cities. We are being deliberately misled to believe that Antifa and BLM are comprised of entitled, idiotic young people who live in their parents’basement. Some of them are, but they clearly also have more sophisticated assets in play as well, and they are planning further acts of terror.

The saints need to be fasting and praying against this, or truly perilous times will be upon us for the long term.

Slow down

As prophets we often make the mistake of constantly looking for the next revelation, when God wasn’t through with the last one. I’ve learned over the years that there are times when the Lord wants me to take my time ‘replaying’ a vision until I have really understood it, and usually there are details I missed the first time.Slow down.

Listen, observe, and pray into what God shows you.

Destiny is in the details.

A word on the Riots

From the beginning of this situation, I have sensed something was not right. I had sensed in my spirit that this had been planned, and within the last two days, evidence has begun to emerge that this is true. The groups who are systematically looting and destroying property are highly organized.

They are well-supplied and equipped. Pallets of bricks have been set out in the streets. Some of these people appear to have military-grade radios and repeaters. This suggests that they have a command-and-control center set up somewhere coordinating their efforts. The consistent report from local people in each city is that these bands of rioters don’t seem to know their way around, which suggests they are not the local residents.

It has now also come to light that they have phone numbers to call to be bailed out. The level of coordination involved indicates this has been planned for some time, and the death of George Floyd isn’t the real cause. This is an insurrection

Documents have been found that appear to be strong evidence that this is a plot by demoestic enemies of our nation.

That said, what is the endgame here? What is the goal?

This is not a series of spontaneous riots. This is a war being fought to accomplish several goals, including, but not limited to:

  • Increasing division
  • Widespread destruction to derail any economic recovery
  • Prevent the re-election of Donald Trump, because that will be the only way to avert the prosecution of many Deep State operatives and ensure the emergence of a new world order
  • Undo the progress that was being made in the Black community because of the Urban Enterprise Zones created by the Trump administration.
  • The destruction of America as we know it.

What then, are we to do? We need to be fasting and fervently praying for the truth to come to light, for the plans of these enemies of our nation to be thwarted, and for our communities to come together in love and unity so that we can rebuild together. We who are leaders in the church need to repent for how we have been largely negligent in our duty to our communities, and begin to once again be a source of hope and leadership. We have been ineffective in evangelism because we have not been pure in our character nor in our motives, and so our preaching has been full of men’s wisdom rather than of the power and transformative grace of God.

We cannot call our communities and nation to repent when we ourselves have been morally bankrupt.

Church leaders, I call you to repent, and seek God for mercy and wisdom as to what must be done.

Patriots, I call upon you to serve your community and help one another in whatever ways you are able.

Now, more than ever, we are all essential.

Where we go one, we go all.

A word to leadership in lockdown

4 months ago, as I addressed the complicity of church leadership in allowing unspeakable evil behind the scenes, I’d said ‘Y’all are FIRED.’

‘This word has come to pass.

Many of you pastors will NOT get your church back.

Even in this present crisis, you continue to hustle and try to cling to your influence (and the revenue it brought you).

I decree to you this day, YOUR MANTLE IS TAKEN, and YOUR STAFF IS BROKEN.

Your charisma will wither like grass in the fire, and you will find yourself losing the power you held over people. For many of you, this crisis is your last chance to repent in sackloth and ashes. For some of you, there is no place of repentance.

Repent while you can.

A New Apostolic Era has Begun

GET READY!

A new season is upon you, one in which the genuine apostolic mantle will be manifested, and you will begin to realize that you’ve been reading the Bible the way it’s been preached to you.

And it was preached to you wrong.

ON PURPOSE.

Get out of the way, old guard.

The Lord has taken His flock from you, and He will turn it over to shepherds after HIS heart, who LOVE his flock, and who never forget that it is HIS.

Many who were called to leadership, but were rejected by the church, have been in obscurity, preparing, being seasoned and tempered, and now they will begin to emerge.

They won’t be who you expected.
They won’t have the look or personality you’re used to.

They will, however, have a conspicuous anointing that will burn with the fire of God.

They will have the power, the presence, and the priorities of HIS kingdom.

Is Christ endless in YOU?

And it is yet far more evident: for that after the similitude of Melchisedec there ariseth another priest, who is made, not after the law of a carnal commandment, but after the power of an endless life.

Hebrews 7:15-16

We often speak of the priesthood of every believer, and perhaps too often we are taught to pursue it by mere carnal commandments and vain religious pursuit that is merely an outward display of piety that diguises our inner life. Is Christ’s life ENDLESS in you? How far does his influence reach in our actions, decisions, emotions, and innermost thoughts and desires?

Oh God, that you would stamp eternity on my eyes and heart!

Throw out your race card

Go ye therefore, and teach ALL NATIONs…

One of the biggest lies you will ever believe in your life is that you are part of an ‘experience’ unique to your culture that no one outside that culture could ever understand or could ever be qualified to address. Jesus sent a bunch of Jewish guys to evangelize the world.

Paul went to the Greeks and Romans. Thomas went to India, and to this day, missionaries are sent by God to speak truth to people who don’t look like them.
You don’t have a black experience, a white experience, a Latin experience, an asian experience… What DO you have, then?

The ‘I got hoodwinked by satan’ experience, of which we have all been partakers. No matter what your culture, the root of every problem you face is SIN. There is good, and evil, the holy and the profane, the unclean and the clean. Everything we think is unique because of culture is just window dressing. Whether the poisoned ice cream you eat is vanilla, chocolate, or rocky road, it’s not the flavor that’s going to kill you, is it?

The cure is always the same. There is no remedy unique to your ‘experience.’
The answer is always Christ, and Him crucified.

Part of the hustle is fooling you into believing that your experience is SO unique, and this deception gives you a compelling excuse to reject any truth that isn’t validated by your particular race card. This keeps us confused, bound, divided, and easy to control by those who would capitalize on this bondage.

Are you ready to break free?

The Era of Zero Discernment

I am sending you out like sheep among wolves. Therefore be as shrewd as snakes and as innocent as doves. (Matt. 10:16)

Something that has been recurring in my spirit lately has a sense of how so many in today’s church are lacking in discernment. We are, in many ways, suckers. I know this seems harsh, but bear with me.

It often happens in my social media feeds that numerous saints will post an article from The Babylon Bee and expound upon their outrage at what has been reported therein, not knowing that the Bee is a satire website, and fairly obviously so.

While we can also be fooled here and there, that this happens so often is an indicator that something is amiss, and it’s not the only indicator. Corporations lie to us, entire industries lie to us, governments and even spiritual leaders lie to us or otherwise deceive, and much of it goes entirely undetected. Demonic activity is often rampant in churches and families, also undetected.

In the last few years, over 100 pastors in the US have been arrested on pedophilia related charges. Some of these individuals went decades undetected, or were actively protected by their denominations and networks because of their ability to generate revenue. If indeed we are a discerning people, how are there so many of these vile people among us?

Some will argue that ‘wheat and tares grow together,’ but that’s is a flawed argument. Why? This is taken from Matthew 13:24-30, where, if we read it in its context, we will find the following facts:

  1. The man in the parable KNEW that the tares were tares.
  2. The tares did not destroy the wheat, or hinder its harvest, whereas the sexual abuse of children in the church often does lifelong harm.
  3. The tares will be rooted out and destroyed.

Thus we can understand that we should be able to tell the wheat from the tares, and we should be able to perceive things and people which are destructive to the harvest of souls.

What then, is the Spirit saying to the church? The Lord is calling us to repent of the blindness which many have had, willful or otherwise, and to ask that there would be a resurgence of the gift of Discernment of Spirits, so that we can put away evil from among us in accordance with 1 Corinthians 5.

Remember, little flock, it is never the will of God for us to remain ignorant to the schemes of the enemy (2 Corinthians 2:11), and He is certainly willing to open our spiritual eyes.

God bless you, and God keep you.

A word on Incels

An incel is someone, usually a man, who believes themselves to be involuntarily celibate. They are sad people who live unloved, don’t get married, never have a family, and die alone. They probably have a high suicide rate.

When I posted about this on Facebook, I found that some Christians actually found this funny. When asked exactly what about being unloved or suicidal is funny, they go silent.

Moreover, the way in which many of us find men’s emotional or mental health problems fair game for ridicule speaks volumes as to our carnality, as well as of the general spiritual state of we who call ourselves the church. In Canada, for example, the #1 cause of death for men between 20 and 45 is SUICIDE.

Worldwide, about 78% of all suicides are men.

And the church leadership is silent.

The Lord is calling the church to repentance over many things, including our severe neglect with regard to the spiritual and emotional well-being of men.

A word on Peace in these times

The steadfast of mind You will keep in perfect peace, Because he trusts in You. – Isaiah 26:3

What does it mean to be steadfast? The dictionary gives its meaning a resolutely or dutifully firm and unwavering. The peace of God is simply not for those who will not commit their lives to God.

Now, that may sound harsh, but it is really the inner rebellion of the carnal man which persuades us that being firm and unwavering is impossible, because if it is indeed impossible, then we have ‘permission’ to waver, it becomes acceptable to be disloyal. We tend to believe whatever is conducive to justifying how we have already decided to think or behave. That being said, saints of God, it’s not impossible to be unwavering. It’s not even difficult!

Remember, He said, ‘My yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” (Matt. 11:30) Commitment is a DECISION! God, through the Holy Spirit will work in you to do His good pleasure, if you truly and simply decide to trust Him (Phil. 2:13).

Will YOU dare to trust God today?

You ARE free

“Then you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” (John 8:32)

Consider that this says ‘make’ as opposed to ‘set.’ To be set free implies a change of circumstance, of an outward condition, whereas to be made free implies a change of identity. In Christ, we have not merely been given a change in our spiritual circumstance, but there has been a fundamental change in who we are.

Even in the natural world, a free man has rights and privileges inherent to his existence. In Christ, we have gone from being the slaves of sin, to being the Sons of God.

If we are Son, we are beloved.
If we are Sons, we are heirs.
If we are Sons, we are destined to become like Him.

Doubt and defeat are the hallmarks of our old lives. Let us remember today that the new creature in Christ has a new nature, and that nature is one of victory and liberty.

Prophetic reminder on motives

The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination,How much more when he brings it with evil intent! (Proverbs 21:27)

There was a businessman who used to say ‘People always have two reasons for what they do: the real reason, and one that sounds good.’ Now, perhaps he was a bit cynical, yet this holds true for most people, and I have found in ministry this is nearly always true. Yet the Bible tells us that when our motive isn’t right, even our sacrifice is an abomination. The word used in the Hebrew is ‘towébah’, which is the same word used to describe idolatry, perversion, and bestiality.

Thus we should understand that ulterior motives are a serious sin, and can contaminate even seemingly good things that we are doing. Saints, it’s time to re-evaluate our motives.

We’re not just going to be judged on what we did, but WHY we did it.

Master Prophets?

I ‘m not impressed by ‘master prophets,’ and neither is God.

Moses parted the Red Sea.

Joshua stopped the sun.

Jesus defeated death itself.

Yet none of them ever called themselves ‘Master Prophet,’ ‘Major Prophet,’ or any of the absurdly arrogant titles being thrown around now.

Prophets, the world does not need you to have some lofty title. What the world needs from you is a real word from God that actually comes to pass.

A word on your future success

As I prepare to sell my house and move on with my life, I’ve been making plans. Plans for life, business, and ministry have all been on my mind, and the Lord had me thinking of the details necessary to achieve my mission.

As I pondered all of this, another thought crossed my mind: many of us want to prosper financially but have no real vision for what we’d do if we did.

Yes, God blessed Israel when He brought them into what preachers like to call the land of more than enough, but did you notice that what He blessed them with was production capacity? That’s right, they still had to put that land to work. They still had to decide what they were going to do with all that capacity.

Before God brought them there, He walked them through a long season of preparation for it, and when they got there, they had to fight for it. We are walking through a very difficult time.

  • What are you doing with it to ensure you are surrendering to God’s process?
  • What are you doing with what God has already given you?
  • What are your plans for when He does give you what you’re asking for, and are those plans right in His sight?

The answers to those questions will reveal a great deal.

God’s loving provision

I, the LORD, am your God, Who brought you up from the land of Egypt; Open your mouth wide and I will fill it.

Psalm 81:10

Consider the imagery.

The baby bird hears its parent coming, and tilts back its head, opening its mouth wide, trusting that they will be filled.

They expect satisfaction.

God is better parent than any bird. He did not beget you into His kingdom to neglect you. You are His responsibility, so expect His goodness and His provision today, and every day.

It’s time to fast and pray

Sanctify ye a fast, call a solemn assembly, gather the elders and all the inhabitants of the land into the house of the LORD your God, and cry unto the LORD…

Joel 1:14

This situation with the Coronavirus is a malicious DECEPTION, and many even among church leadership have fallen for it. Even much of the church is paralyzed by fear, and this is not of God. Much of what you’re being told by the media is entirely false. This is part of a diabolical plot to force a premature emergence of the New World Order.

I beseech you, brethren, by the mercies of God, insofar as you are able, to join us in a 7 day fast concerning the Anti-Christ spirit driving the false narrative of this ‘pandemic,’ and which has released a principality of fear that has gripped so many, even among the Church.

Things to pray for:

  • 1That the truth would be revealed
  • That the perpetrators of this diabolical scheme would be exposed and brought to justice.
  • That national leaders would break away from the darkness presently ruling them.
  • That the people of God would REPENT of not merely their sins, but of their ways, their habits, their opinions, their pride and vanity and turn to God with their entire heart and be made whole in Him.
  • That God would shut the mouths of the church leaders who are feeding into the false narrative, or otherwise using the present crisis in an opportunistic way to serve their own interest.
  • That the old guard leaders would get out of the way, or be removed by God. Many have been fired by God, and they know it, but they continue to try to cling to their influence.
  • That the new generation of apostolic leaders would come out of the obscurity they’ve been hidden in and take up their mantles.

A war has been fought against us in secret for decades, and has now come into the open. Is there not a cause?

Who will take up the call to defeat this insidious plot of the Enemy?

Loud sounding gong? A Word on ‘harsh’ prophecies

Delivering a prophecy that seems harsh to our modern sensibilities doesn’t make you a loud-sounding gong without love, contrary to the absolute tripe being taught today.

There was once a prophet who said things like:

Generation of vipers! (Matt. 12:34)
Though you are exalted to heaven, you shall be brought down to hell. (Luke 10:15)
I will profess to them ‘Depart from me, ye who work iniquity, for I never knew you.’ (Matt. 7:23)

He also cursed a defenseless tree for not having fruit.

Who was this mean old ogre of a prophet?

JESUS.

Today’s teaching on how the prophetic must always be uplifiting would condemn JESUS as not having love.

The truth is that we often fail to understand what the Bible teaches because we read it the way it’s been erroneously preached to us. Prophecy is for edification, exhortation, and comfort, but this does not mean it will always be comfortable.

In the US Marine Corps, my Drill Sergeants edified me, getting me into the greatest shape I’ve ever been in. They exhorted with tremendous intensity. Their training is now a comfort when there’s an emergency or danger of any kind.

Some may argue that we’re still supposed to be gentle, but not all situations call for what we now regard as gentle.

Feel free to call me harsh.

The lake of fire is harsher than anything I could possibly say to you.

Am I your enemy, because I tell you the truth?

Pick up your cross

Then he said to them all: “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me.” (Luke 9:23)

What does it really mean to take up your cross?

At the time Jesus said this, if you saw a man carrying a cross out of town, you knew one thing for certain: he wasn’t coming back. Likewise, if we are to take up our cross, the man you were, the man you would be without Christ, that man your flesh wants you to be, must DIE.

This is not an option. It is not some ‘level’ of maturity or of special status in the kingdom, but rather it is the minimum requirement to follow Christ.. and it is good.

There are two kinds of people: those who are dead in sin, and those who are dead to sin. Which will you be today?

Why we don’t need to ask for an Open Heaven

I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. (Gal. 2:20)

I never need to ask for an open heaven because the Veil of the Temple was torn when Christ died. I am The temple of the Living God, and heaven is already open for me, not because I asked, nor because I somehow deserved it, but because the Blood of Jesus has made it so.

Nor do I live by my own faith. God forbid, for my own faith would fail many times over before I could finish my journey. Indeed, I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave Himself for me. This is why I can do all things in Christ. He promised that HIS grace would be enough, and it is.

He loved YOU.
He gave Himself for YOU.
He put His Spirit in YOU.

Every prayer you could ever set before the Father has already been answered at Calvary.

Faith vs. Presumption

But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. (Hebrews 11:16)

What do you really believe about God?

An honest answer to that question will tell you a great deal about where your faith is and it will also reveal the ‘why’ behind so much of your life and how you’ve handled it.For many of us, our perception of God becomes distorted or even corrupted by negative experiences because somewhere along the line we began to believe that faith means believing that God has to give us whatever we want.

Everything about the life of the believer comes through and by Christ, and so we must understand that if Jesus is the author and finisher of our faith (Hebrews 12:2), God is only obligated to finish what He started. For so many of us, resolving a crisis of faith must begin with recognizing where we have exercised faith and where we have simply walked in presumption.

Once you can recognize the difference, frustration, confusion, despair, and every other thing that comes with a troubled faith walk must flee.

Are YOU willing today to own up to where you didn’t believe, but just presumed?

The Hope of Glory?

To them God chose to make known how great among the Gentiles are the riches of the glory of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory. (Col. 1:27)

This hope is never meant to be a maybe. In the Biblical context , hope is very different from how we view it now. The word used in the Greek is elpece (Strong’s Gr. 1680), which is a confidence, an expectation. This not a mere chance or probability, but rather it is something which is certain.

The life of Christ was meant to flow through you. This certain expectation of God’s glory in you was not meant to be hidden under layers of personality and culture, buried beneath our vain attempts to fit in with the world around us, no! Indeed, it is not even merely our expectation, but rather creation itself awaits its manifestation in you.

What then shall we do, little flock? Today I dare you to absolutely expect His life to show itself in you and through you. It takes no more faith than it does to believe anything else He’s told us.

You already believe He washed away your sins.

You already believe He indwells you through the Holy Spirit.

You may as well believe that He can and will make good on His promise to glorify Himself through you.

God made you a SON!

So you are no longer a slave, but a son, and if a son, then an heir through God. (Galatians 4:7, ESV)

So often we get caught up in gifts, callings, ministries, and so much more, and we start to think that our gift or our ministry is our identity. When me mistake our calling for our identity, we call into the trap of working in that calling as a way of relating to or pleasing God. However, the truth is that no matter what your calling, that is your JOB, not your identity.

Whether I am a doctor, a plumber, a carpenter, or even a criminal, I would still be my father’s son. Likewise, your identity in the kingdom isn’t apostle, prophet, evangelist, etc., but it is SON. You might be a prophet for life, but you are a SON for eternity!

If you are a son, then you are no one’s slave. You are the heir! The promises of God are YOURS because He loves you. His favor is YOURS because He loves you. Everything Christ has, and everything Christ is, is YOURS, because you are a SON!

Shall we then neglect our calling? God forbid. Rather, our kingdom activity should be the fruit of our identity.

Do you want clarity in your calling?
Do you need direction for your ministry?
Do you need a breakthrough?

These things are already yours in Christ, because He made you a SON!

Therefore, let us focus on being the Sons of God.

When I was a little boy, I rarely asked my father for anything, and this puzzled him. The truth was that it didn’t occur to me to ask him for things for two reasons: I trusted him, and it was enough for me to simply be around him.

As a grown man, my father told me of all his children I’d honored him the most, and had been the greatest blessing to him.

Do you want to honor God, and be a blessing in His kingdom? Spend time with Him simply for the sake of fellowship. You may be surprised just how much He will reveal to you when you seek His face and not His hand.

Every answer to prayer, every breakthrough, every healing, every deliverance was already accomplished at Calvary. Allow God to grow you as a son, and these other things will be added to you.

Mentoring Emerging prophets

Some prophets ‘turn to the Dark Side,’ so to speak because of a lack of specific Mentoring for their calling. The emerging prophet needs sound discipleship and oversight, as well as safe and accountable environment in which to exercise his gift. Over the years, I’ve mentored quite a few prophets who felt frustrated in their church because they’d hear from God but were actively discouraged from using their gift, or because they weren’t learning how to handle the revelations they were receiving. Still others found themselves overwhelmed with demonic attacks for which they received little or no real support. Pastors, the devil wants your prophets! It is best that you give prayerful consideration to how you might safeguard them from the specific threats they face.

Now, what you do with regard to this may vary, depending on any specific guidance that the Holy Spirit may give you for your particular flock. Nevertheless, here are some things you can do with emerging prophets:

  1. A weekly prayer gathering for the prophets with mature leadership to oversee it.

  1. Specific time set aside for the prophets to exercise their gifts outside of the regular service times, with prophecies being judged and constructive feedback being given.

  1. Prayer assignments for the prophets.

  1. Prophetic assignments.

  2. Specific Bible study assignments to further their personal development.

  1. A dedicated team of intercessors to pray for the prophets.

  2. Thorough training on the gift and office

Remember, as a leader, it’s your job to defend the flock, and a big part of that is by ensuring that your emerging prophets are not seduced by the enemy.

What is the Gospel?

The gospel, in a nutshell is:

The world, and man were created by an infinitely wise, loving and righteous God. Man, through the disobedience of Adam became bound by sin to a mortal life of rebellion against the justice of God.

Because God will not lay aside His justice, sin must be met with wrath, and so Man who dies in his sin must thereby be damned. Just as God’s love is infinite and absolute, so also is His justice, and because He is the source of all life, which He created for His own good pleasure, to live in sin is to commit the greatest of crimes, for in so doing we offend the very Maker of all that exists.

God, in His mercy, however, chose to satisfy the demands of His justice by becoming a man sent to redeem the world by His own blood. Through Jesus Christ, the forgiveness of sin and restoration to fellowship with God were made available to us, if we confess and believe that Jesus is LORD and that God raised Him from the dead.

If indeed we believe this to be so, we must then also believe that we have lived against God’s law, and the only rational response is to REPENT, that is, to turn away from our sin and toward God in a total surrender to the Lordship of Christ. (Acts 2:38) The baptism mentioned in Acts is a ceremonial washing for consecration to the priesthood of God, which marks us as no longer our own, and longer the servants of sin, but as having been redeemed, consecrated to the service of God.

It is this surrender that brings the Holy Spirit into the life of the believer to comfort, accompany, strengthen, and guide the believer in all truth, and to preserve him in the faith until Christ returns or the believer after death is gathered unto Him in everlasting life.

Want to plant a church?

If you are thinking to plant a church, think instead to plant a community rather than an institution. When Jesus addressed the churches in Revelation, he addressed them as communities by city, as a people, and not as an organization.

Christian leaders tend to create institutions because the primary driving force of their church plant is the fulfillment of a vision that revolves around their own life and ministry rather than around the life of Christ. Leaders, YOUR vision isn’t enough. YOUR anointing isn’t enough.

Man-centered ministry is the reason you can see a man raise up a church of 30,000 but almost never produce one member that is his equal, never mind one who can go on to greater works. Some of your sons, at least, ought to outdo you.

Abraham was given the Promise,
Isaac was the progenitor of the specific bloodline for the Promise.
Yet it was Jacob who became Israel, and the nation promise to Abraham is named after him. Wait. What?

That’s right. God promised Abraham a nation, but named it after his grandson.

Israel fathered the nation, but his sons populated it.

Judah received the prophetic word about kingship, but it was David that established that Kingdom.

David established its borders, but Solomon built its magnificence to the point that ancient writings in Tibet speak of the splendor of Solomon. Even so, the Seal of Solomon to this day is called the Star of David.

For all his splendor and wisdom, even Solomon did not get to complete the Promise.

The Promise was ultimately fulfilled in Christ alone. Remember what Galatians 3:13-14 says:

Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree: That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.

So we see that fathers receive most of their honor through their sons, not through their own lives. If this is not proof enough, consider this:

Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:
That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;
And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Even the very ministry and Lordship of Jesus is for the glory of His Father, and I am sure Abraham isn’t upset that Jesus fulfilled the Promise God made so long ago.

The faith of the Son of God

You don’t always need a prophetic word. Sometimes you need to remember that we live by the faith of the Son of God.

Now, can you imagine JESUS not getting a prayer answered?

Me neither.

Does tithing connect you to your covenant?

Preachers, so many of you are going to go to hell for scaring people into mandatory income tithing with threats of curses.

Tithing under the law was expressly commanded to Israel as 1/10 of the agricultural production of the land. This is why God calls it ‘the tithe of the land.’ It was never based on income or wages. Only those who owned land and livestock tithed. There were plenty of non-farmers living at that time, including bankers, jewelers, weavers, stoneworkers, and carpenters. Our Savior was a carpenter.

Another interesting detail the preaches love to leave out is that the tithe was given to the priests only twice every seven years. In the 7th year, there was no crop production, so the only tithe was of animals. In the other 4 years the people were commanded to eat the tithe crops, or to sell them and then spend the money ON THEMSELVES. (See Deut 14:26)

We are to give generously, give cheerfully, but let no man manipulate you into works of the Law that were never commanded anywhere in the New Testament, nor is there any evidence in the first 600+ years of church history of any church body teaching mandatory income tithing. The tradition of income tithing began in 680 AD when the Roman government instituted it as a tax for their state-controlled church.

The New Testament writings do not teach it.

The early apostles and church fathers did not teach it. Not one of the thousands of primary source historical documents we have from those who lead the church in all those centuries gives us any evidence at all that the church ever taught it up until the paganized Roman church forced it on everyone in the empire.

When the threats of curses do not, work, many preachers then resort to two doctrines to support mandatory income tithing:

The first is that Abraham tithed to Melchizedek, and this means we ought to tithe. This is very poor theology, since Abraham did this only ONCE, he did so VOLUNTARILY and NOT by commandment, and it was from property taken in a war. It is extremely poor theology to use a one-time voluntary act to teach people they must tithe from their income.

The second lie that is relied upon is the false promise that tithing connects you to your covenant.

This is BLASPHEMY. Why?

2 Corinthians 5:5 tells us:

Now He who prepared us for this very purpose is God, who gave to us the Spirit as a pledge.

A pledge is a deposit. The KJV says the ‘earnest of the Spirit.’ When I first made an offer on my house, I was required to submit with that offer $500 as an earnest money deposit. That deposit is credited toward the purchase of the house, and is called the ‘earnest money,’ because it is the evidence, the proof, that I was in earnest – serious and committed – about buying the house. It was the sign that I was serious about going through with the purchase.

Similarly, the indwelling of the Holy Spirit is God’s deposit on our life, the promise that He will complete what He has begun.

THAT is what connects you to your covenant written in the Blood of Christ, not your money.
